whom Bowles met during his first visit to Paris in 1929 and
who introduced him to the exotic photos of Marrakech.
Narrational in nature, Portrait of K.M.C. is comprised of a
set of sophisticated micro-variations – richly polytonal
and, at times, pointillistic – on the ornamented
descending theme of the opening.
