A father and a cat

locked between two doors
not entering back into the midmorning light of the rooms
and not going out
where it snows,
by some absentminded father,
breathing in the thickness of the horror
it cannot see and cannot move

and as the hours pass
its life slows down
its heart forgets itself
and then
it trusts the saviour
