Ideas about where does learning English language stand..
English
Dear ladies and gentlemen! English lesson lasts for 45 minutes. You learn once a day. This means you have about 5 lessons during a work week. Almost 4 hours to practice communicating with a tool that is most common for all unanimously. However, not every lesson is beneficial, just as English language is not always number one choice.
From second grade to twelfth grade, we only learn basic English language skills. According to our educational programme, we only have to be able to communicate in English. Meanwhile, we must speak fluently, be able to understand and respond deeply, interpret and think in Lithuanian language. For all this we get almost the same amount of lessons as for English, and then a little more. Why then, don\'t we learn all round English? The main problem is our educators. Most of their pupils struggle to learn basic level of English. One has to memorize words that mean nothing to him, to read text that only give grammatical rules. It is frustrating when you see, jow much you learn from your Lithuanian teacher. You know what is a protagonist, empathy, onomatopoeia, etc. . Indeed, basic English language skills could become so much more!
Most people improve greatly in after-school activities. That is speaking, reading, playing, watching, working. Some of the activities help one learn English better. For instance, debates help develop personal opinion and logic. Reading books in English can immediately push you to the front row of your class - even people in England learn by reading books, so you could be just like an Englishman! Furthermore, this can also help improve Lithuanian skills, since one of it\'s goals is understanding of literature. However, at times we should be careful with what choice for after-school activities do we take.
Lithuanian language is most preferable in Lithuania. To be a patriot, it is a must to respect Lithuanian language. Reading in English could be seen as infringement to this as migration. Therefore, it is a wrong behavior to practice English instead of doing Lithuanian homework, or to read English book during Lithuanian\'s lesson. However, preventing a pupil from exercising his skills at other times is discriminative. We have to keep a dialogue between cultures, and language enables us to do that. According to the EU, we should learn at least two more to our mother-tongue. To keep that, we don\'t have to choose Lithuanian at every single case.
All in all, we must acknowledge the importance of learning different language. It allows us to communicate with lots of different people and also in lots of different ways. For us to effectively use the advantages, we should either alter our educational programme or use our after-school activities in a way we haven\'t used them before. If you are a student, a hard-worker or a freelancer, you are welcome to learn English, too.
