Ungulate

I picked this word from pile at random
And now I have to write it down
I feel like donkey in the fields
That it is forced
To plow into a poem;
I hate it.
You should know.

Is it an adjective?
Is it a verb?
A noun which has no meaning
Or has the meaning
That needs to be explained?

I looked into a dictionary:
“Hoofed animals” an adjective proposed to me,
A noun screamed
“It is a horse!! An elephant! A cow!!! ”

Perissodactyla and Artiodactyla
Popped out on a blue screen – poor Mammoths!!
They did ungulate thousands years ago.

Tough word. I hate it.
